Spinal cord injuries are some of the most devastating types of injuries that someone who is involved in an accident can experience. Though paralysis may be the end result, it is possible that at least a certain degree of recovery could be accomplished via rehabilitation.
Following a spinal injury that results in paralysis, there are many things the person who has experienced the injury will be concerned about. For many it is seeking to one day walk again. While adapting to a new way of life following such an injury can be difficult, with modifications it is possible for some to participate in activities they may have thought impossible, such as skiing and snowboarding. Local not-for-profit, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, is helping some spinal injury victims in the area, do that very thing.
