A car accident in Georgina resulted in the death of an Ontario man on Dec. 8, authorities said. The accident reportedly involved three vehicles and occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 48 north of Ravenshoe Road.
A 39-year-old Ontario transport truck driver has been charged for his role in a fatal multi-vehicle accident in June that shut down Highway 401 in Whitby. He turned himself in to police on Dec. 17.
A 70-year-old man died from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle collision around 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. Police believe a drug-impaired female driver caused the fatal accident, according to reports.
Motorists owe a duty of care while driving to the other drivers on the road as well as the passengers riding in their vehicles. When their negligent behavior results in a collision that causes harm or death to others, they violate that duty.
