How are lawyers paid?

How are lawyers paid?

Many lawyers in Ontario are paid an hourly rate or a block fee, but most personal injury lawyers are different. We charge what is called a “contingency fee”. It’s popular among personal injury lawyers throughout Canada and the US, and it means that you only have to pay us if we win your case.

How does a contingency fee help me?

Contingency fees help make the legal process easier on you by giving you peace of mind, which can be especially helpful if you’ve been injured in a car or slip and fall accident. There are no large, up-front expenses or ongoing lawyer fees-you don’t pay us until we win your case. Contingency fees also make our services available to people in all financial situations. If you’ve been hurt, but are concerned that our fees will be too expensive, don’t worry. You won’t have to pay us until you receive compensation for your injuries.

How much will I pay if we win?

Our fee is a percentage of your compensation – whether that’s from a win in court or a settlement outside of court. We have a history of successful personal injury claims, and are experienced in maximizing your compensation. After all, it’s in both of our benefit.

Does the fee vary?

Our contingency fee rate is usually the same for most of our cases, though it can sometimes change based on the risk of a certain case.

How do I schedule my free consultation?

A free consultation is an important part of the process. Call us at 416-533-7133 to schedule a free meeting with one of our experienced lawyers, who will help determine what the best course of action is. If you have any other questions about our contingency fee structure, they will be happy to explain it to you further.
